Our Mission is to assist older individuals in Colusa County to live independently by promoting better health, improved nutrition, and reduced isolation through programs coordinated with nutrition-related supportive services.
We provide nutritious and delicious noon meals for seniors 60 years of age and older. For those seniors who are able to come to a Nutrition Site, we offer a Congregate Meals Program, which provides low-cost, hot, nutritious noon meals in a group setting. Persons age 60 and over are eligible to participate, and underage spouses may participate as well. Recreational and social activities are included at the site. A donation of $3.00 or more is requested but is not mandatory, and the guest fee is $4.00. For eligible older persons, the Senior Nutrition Program also provides a nutritious meal delivered to the home.
A formal needs assessment is required for participation in the home-delivered meals program.
To be eligible for home-delivered meals, the senior citizen must be:
- Age 60 or older
- Homebound due to illness, incapacity or disability, or otherwise isolated
- Determined to be in need of service within the policies set by the Area Agency on Aging and the nutrition service provider
Please remember to RSVP for the congregate site when you want to attend lunch. If you cannot make it, please cancel your reservation.
The doors open at 11:00 am. Come early to have coffee and visit with the other guests. Transportation services are available. Please call (530) 458-0380 for more information.
The monthly menu plan is approved by a certified dietitian to assure the Center only serves nutritious and well-balanced meals. The Senior Nutrition Program is made possible through funding provided by Colusa County Department of Health and Human Services and the Area III Agency on Aging.
We look forward to having lunch with you!
