Join us for Splendid Spider Week at the Colusa Library!
Tuesday, April 23, 6:30-8:00pm
Guest lecturer, Dr. Jason Bond, UC Davis Terrestrial Arthropod Systematics, Evolution, and Diversity Professor and Schlinger Chair in Insect Systematics will discuss all things arachnid!  The Master Gardeners of Colusa County will also be on hand with informational leaflets and spider help.

Wednesday, April 24, 3:30-4:30pm
A visit from the Explorit Science Center includes a hands-on spider lesson, spider story time, activity stations and take-home projects, and visits from live spiders.  This FREE program is sponsored by the Friends of the Colusa County Free Library and is appropriate for school-age children.

Thursday, April 25, 6:30-7:30pm
Family Story Time: Listen to a story about young E.B. White, who grew up to be author of Charlotte's Web and Stuart Little!  Followed by a craft.  Fun for the whole family!

Friday, April 26, 11:00am-12:30pm & 1:00-2:30pm
Bring snacks and a pillow for a movie marathon at the library!  First up, the 1973 animated classic adaptation of Charlotte's Web. Followed by the beloved 2006 live action feature film adaptation.

Career Online High School
Colusa County Free Library’s Career Online High School (COHS) offers adults the opportunity to earn an accredited high school diploma and career certificate online. 
The Library’s pilot program provides a limited number of free enrollments to qualified adult learners who are looking to advance their careers, prepare for workforce entry or continue their education. Career Online High School through the Colusa County Free Library is open to all eligible County residents. 

Applicants who successfully complete an online self-assessment and prerequisite course, followed by an in-person interview, will be considered for enrollment. 
Once enrolled, COHS pairs each student with an online academic coach, who provides the student with an individual career path, offers ongoing guidance, evaluates performance and connects the student with the resources needed to master the courses. Students will be given up to 18 months to complete the program.

Every Thursday, from 10:00-12:00 and 1:00-4:00, at the Main Branch in Colusa, patrons are welcome to drop in and receive assistance with the following: 
  • selecting and signing up for Medi-Cal Managed Care Plan
  • changing plans
  • filling out forms
  • finding doctors & changing providers
