Goals
The Explorer Program consists of young men and women ages 14 to 20 years old. It was established to:
- Provide a volunteer resource for the sheriff's office to use in non-enforcement activities
- Provide good, wholesome activities for the county's young men and women
- Provide the opportunity for young men and women to develop good organizational and leadership skills
- Teach explorers about law enforcement as a possible career under the direction of law enforcement officers
Organization
The Sheriff's Explorer Post 664 is chartered from the Boy Scouts of America. The post organization includes a leadership committee, which consists of members of the sheriff's office administration and the sheriff, who chairs the organization.
