After graduating from Colusa High School, John Loudon attended Yuba College until he was drafted into the Army, where he completed Communications School and was then sent to Vietnam. After he was honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant E5, he continued his education at a technology trade school, American River JC, Sacramento State and the University of Washington. He then spent 25 years in the computer industry as an executive, and 12 years as the owner of the Refuge Restaurant in Colusa.

Supervisor Loudon is a member of the Colusa Chamber of Commerce and VFW Post 2441. Additionally, he’s served 5 years as a County Planning Commissioner, 3 years on the Board of Directors of the California County Planning Commission Association and spent 2 years on the Grand Jury. After being elected in 2016, John has served as liaison to five county departments and has been a member of 11 boards and committees. He has worked closely with department heads and chairs to identify areas of concern and continues to focus on developing workable solutions. John and his wife, Nancy, have been married 47 years and live in Colusa where they raised their family.
