Transit Information
Colusa County Transit Agency (CCTA) is the sole public transit provider for Colusa County. The CCTA began serving the citizens of Colusa County on October 1st, 1979. At that point, the fleet consisted of one station wagon, one nine-passenger mini-bus and two drivers which ran under the direction of Colusa County Public Works Department. The CCTA is a Joint Powers Authority between the County of Colusa and the Cities of Colusa and Williams. Over the past 40 years, the CCTA has grown to a staff of ten that consist of three office personnel, six full time drivers and one full time mechanic.
Operations include a demand response service with fixed time routes, wherein; the bus departs Colusa at a set time and travels throughout the destination service area. These services are offered from 7am to 5pm, Monday through Friday on a "flex route" schedule where the bus will deviate throughout a corridor surrounding the basic route. All rides are available on a first come, first serve basis. These services are currently provided in and between Colusa, Williams, Arbuckle, Princeton, Maxwell, Stonyford, Sites, and Grimes/Meridian.
Although passengers are not required to register for Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) service, all CCTA vehicles are ADA compliant with lifts and tie-downs. Curb-to-curb service is provided to the general population, while door-to-door service is provided to the ADA passengers. Service animals are also allowed on all routes.
The CCTA offers transportation to out-of-county medical appointment to Chico, Davis, Lincoln, Marysville, Oroville, Roseville, Sacramento, Willows, Woodland and Yuba City. Medical appointments must be made before 2:00 pm the previous day. This program is grant sponsored; when funding runs out the rides are stopped until further funds become available. Donations are encouraged and accepted to help keep the program running longer. Due to limited funding, the CCTA is no able to provide for out-patient surgical appointment or long-term cancer treatments, e.g. daily appointments for multiple weeks, or 4 to 8 hour treatments.
