Arrests made in Arbuckle Stabbing
For Immediate Release
May 17, 2016 4:00PM
Santiago Rodriguez Ochoa Jr., 26, of Arbuckle, who has been wanted for a stabbing in Arbuckle on May 6, turned himself into the Yuba County Jail Monday evening on an unrelated warrant for Assault with a Deadly Weapon stemming from an incident in 2015.
Upon being notified that Ochoa was at the Yuba County Jail in Marysville, detectives from the Colusa County Sheriff’s Office returned him to Colusa. Detectives booked Ochoa into the Colusa County Jail for the warrant and a new charge of attempted murder.
Ochoa has been wanted for questioning in the early morning stabbing incident in the 1100 block of Garret Ave in Arbuckle, CA. The victim was conscious upon the deputies’ arrival and was later transported to a hospital with life threatening injuries. The victim has survived his injuries but remains in serious condition.
The circumstances leading up to the stabbing remain unknown although both the suspect and victim knew each other. Following the stabbing incident, Ochoa fled the scene with a female and two young children. The female, later identified as Florisela Robles Delgado, 23, of Arbuckle and the two children were located that morning and were deemed safe. It was determined that Delgado is the mother of the two children, one father is Ochoa and one is the victim.
Through the investigation, it was discovered that Delgado had been providing Ochoa the means to elude capture following the stabbing. She was taken into custody on May 12 and was booked into the Colusa County Jail for being an accessory to the crime.
Ochoa is in custody with no bail and Delgado is being held with a bail of $250,000.
The investigation is continuing with the assistance of the Colusa County District Attorney’s Office, Marysville Police Department, and the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.
